Who we are

Carbon Activated is made by Carbon Diamonds Inc., a family jewelry business in Dallas, Texas. This policy explains what the Carbon Activated app collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers the app only. Shopping on carbondiamonds.com is covered by our store privacy policy.

What we read from Health Connect

With your permission, the app reads three things from Health Connect: your daily step count, the distance you walk and run, and your exercise sessions (to tell runs from walks).

We never read heart rate, location, GPS routes, sleep, weight or any other health record. The app only reads. It never writes to Health Connect.

You can turn access off anytime in Health Connect settings (in the app, Profile > Health Connect settings). Points stop syncing when you do.

How we use it

Only to run the points program: turning your daily distance and runs into points, showing your progress, your goal and your streak, and checking for activity that looks entered by hand or impossible.

We store daily totals (distance, steps and run sessions), not the raw readings.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the cloud provider that hosts our servers (Amazon Web Services) under contract.

The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your account

We keep your email address, the name you give us, your time zone, your daily goal, your points history and the rewards you redeem, so we can run your account and get rewards to you. Your sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito and your password is never visible to us.

Deleting your account

Delete your account anytime in the app from Profile > Delete account, or see how to delete your Carbon Activated account. We erase your email, name, sign-in and the distance, steps and times of your activity right away, and cancel rewards not yet fulfilled.

We keep an anonymous record of points issued and spent, with nothing that identifies you, for our accounting.

Security

Data travels encrypted and is stored in a private, encrypted database in the United States that is not reachable from the internet.

Children

Carbon Activated is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date above and tell you in the app for any important change.
